M (1931) Fritz Lang

On January 13, 2019, The West Orange Classic Film Festival presents “M” (1931), with La Cinémathèque founder Gerard Amsellem. Peter Lorre stars in this German classic that revolves around the actions of a serial killer of children and the manhunt for him, conducted by both the police and the criminal underworld. Fritz Lang’s first “talking” picture is considered by many film scholars to be a masterpiece of the early sound era.

All screenings are at the AMC Theatre in Essex Green Shopping Center on Prospect Avenue in West Orange at 2 pm. Tickets are $12 ($9 for members of the West Orange Arts Council, who must purchase tickets at the box office) and will be available at the theatre box office or through Fandango (a link will be posted here when they become available).
