New Wave Productions is a multi-disciplinary production company whose purpose is to create works about awareness and perception. Painting, film production, and film viewing are all part of the New Wave perspective. The main purpose of New Wave Productions is to creates art with a desire to reignite that passion, question established norms, and take a fresh look at film as an art form.

Gerard Amsellem

Artist, educator and filmmaker Gerard Amsellem is an American and French citizen whose special interests lie in classic, foreign and independent films from all over the world.

Gerard moved to the U.S. after spending his first 25 years in Paris, France. He studied painting at the University of Paris and earned Masters Degree in French Literature and Art History while living in France. Gerard continued his studies in the U.S. at the New York University Tisch School of the Arts.

Gerard has directed several short films and is currently working on two independent film projects. His short film, Bartleby (2013), was awarded a Director’s Citation by the Black Maria Film Festival, and made an Official Selection of both the Garden State Film Festival and the Twin Rivers Film Festival in Asheville, NC. The mission of his production company, New Waves Productions, is the promotion of film as an art form and public access to high quality cinema.

As an educator, Gerard developed the curriculum for the first ever foreign film course at Livingston High School and he also pioneered a program that engages students in the art of film-making, from screenwriting to editing. Gerard’s critically acclaimed abstract paintings have been exhibited both in Paris and locally at SOPAC, GAS Gallery & Studio, the Baird Center, Riker Hill Art Park and 1978 Maplewood Arts Center. For more information, contact linguavision@gmail.com.

Dan Ippolito has taught history, government, and the humanities for over twenty years in Livingston, New Jersey. Prior to becoming a teacher, he practiced law at an international law firm headquartered in New York City.

Joyce Klestzick has been a psychoanalyst for the past thirty years in a private practice in NYC.

Charles Paikert

Charles Paikert is a journalist and author of several books, including 'Variety's History of Show Business.'

Jean Minthe

Jean Minthe, French graphic designer, passionate about cinema of all kind, on any kind of screen, in any kind of language from anywhere in time.

Jesse Allard

Jesse is an IT Support Specialist for a local school district in Essex County. In his free time, Jesse enjoys volunteer filming and video-editing for a local public broadcast TV station. Jesse graduated from the University of Maryland in 2021 with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and an upper-level concentration in Cinema Studies. Jesse manages social media and communications for New Wave Productions.

Mikel Frank

Experienced artist professional who has dedicated his life to studying, creating, teaching and working in the arts. His passion was compounded by his 30 year tenure at The Metropolitan Museum of Art and he now teaches college-level art classes in Charlotte, NC. Mikel and Gerard Amsellem have had an ongoing collaboration making art together in a myriad of formats and media. Mikel is now an active member of Global Art Project, an international mixed-media collaborative collective.
