Come see Waltz with Bashir as part of La Cinémathèque’s largest series ever!
As a 19-year-old infantry soldier in the 1982 war with Lebanon, Folman witnessed the Sabra and Shatila massacre, but realizes that he has no memory of the event. In 2006, he seeks out others who were in Beirut at the time to discuss their memories, including a psychologist specializing in post-traumatic stress disorders and the first journalist to cover the massacre.
Film Introductions and post-screening discussion will be led by educator, artist, and filmmaker Gerard Amsellem. This is part of a dual-series on Israeli cinema, with five films at the JCC and five at SOPAC. Click here for more information. Tickets are available from the SOPAC box office.
Please note: Attendance to JCC Israeli Series screenings does not guarantee SOPAC screening membership. Your membership to the SOPAC series covers all five films and tickets for individual screenings are not available.
